Tips and Techniques Tuesdays – 10/25/11

One “tool” I keep on hand in my sewing area is a wooden Point Turner & Presser. The one I use is by Collins, and is bamboo. I am working on an applique project from Beth Ferrier‘s More! Hand Applique by Machine, and I love the point turner for smoothing my applique pieces over the freezer paper.

I also use this tool to “press” when I’m paper-piecing. It is flat and smooth, and I’m able to apply pressure to flatten my seams.

The point on this tool is great for pushing out those corners and other seams when you’ve sewn something inside out and then turned it.

Do you have one? What other sewing tips do you have for its use?
