Tips and Techniques Tuesday – 8/23/11

Today’s Technique comes in the form of the Applique Pressing Sheet, which is a 13″ x 17″ non-stick fabric sheet that makes applique easy. The sheet is also a Multipurpose Craft Sheet.

If your pieces shift or slide while you are fusing overlapping designs into place, then the Applique Pressing Sheet is a good fit for you. With this product, you can preassemble your design without the aggravation of guessing where each piece overlaps. The Applique Pressing sheet is also transparent, which allows you to see your pattern through the sheet to use as a placement guide.

This product also works great for ultra suede designs, iron on metal designs, paper piecing in quilt making, iron-on photo transfer paper, craft bags, painted wood, heat setting paint, and much more. It can be used as a pressing cloth for any surface that the iron should not directly touch. In addition, it works great as a work surface for your craft area or for kids.

Consider using the Applique Pressing Sheet next time you are fusing applique or need a pressing cloth, craft sheet, painting surface, or ironing board protector. The sheet is reusable hundreds of times, is easy to use, and is double sided.
